The first step is to send us a message with your name and location, by filling out the contact form on the right. We will assign one of our highly experienced case managers to your application within 24 hours of receiving your message.

We will send you the application document, along with the relevant forms, which you can print and fill out at your earliest convenience.
You will have to take the official fingerprint form (C-216C) to an authorized agency or a police station, to transfer your fingerprints properly. Alternatively, you can use your country’ fingerprint form, provided it is in the same format as the C-216 form.

Note: The criminal record check form requires rolled impressions of all 10 fingerprints, taken at the same time. These are often referred to as flat or plain impressions.

You can email us your completed fingerprint form at info@globeia.ca and we will check to make sure that the quality of the fingerprints is acceptable to the RCMP.
Next comes your photo. The photo you send us will appear on your background check certificate.
Finally, attach a copy of two government-issued IDs for the application. This can be any ID issued in any country with your name and date of birth on them.

Process Complete

As soon as we receive your application at our Ontario office, we will digitize your fingerprints and submit them to the RCMP. RCMP takes around up to 72 hours to perform a police check and send the certificate back to the applicant’s mailing address.In the case of a criminal record history, you may have to wait for 1 to 4 months.

If you have authorized us to receive your criminal record check results on your behalf, we will mail them to you on the same day that we receive the package from the RCMP. In some cases such as Privacy act applications and under 18 years old applications, we will not be able to receive the results on your behalf.

Note: While we have no control over the time RCMP takes to issue a police clearance certificate, we make sure that there are no unnecessary delays by thoroughly checking your documents and submitting your application on the same day we receive your documents. RCMP Canada’s Fingerprints-based Checks for Use in Portugal

Although you are not required to be in Canada for a background check, your fingerprints must be digitized by an RCMP-accredited company. Digital copies of your fingerprints prepared by a third party outside Canada will be rejected by the RCMP.

The digitization process starts by filling out the C-216C fingerprinting form at your local police station or fingerprinting agency in Portugal. You can then send the completed application form and your other documentation (including copies of two government-issued IDs) to your preferred fingerprinting company in Canada.

The third part of the process involves fingerprint form digitization and RCMP submission for the final check.

How can I get fingerprints done outside Canada?

You don’t have to travel to Canada to get a police record check done. We have been accredited by the RCMP to digitize your fingerprints and submit them to the RCMP electronically. Our highly experienced staff will be available to guide you on how you can visit a local police station or an authorized agency near you to get your fingerprints taken for your Canadian background check.

What type of photo IDs can I upload?

You will need to upload two government-issued photo IDs. Our clients usually send us a copy of their passport and their driver’s license, but any government-issued identity documents are usually acceptable.

Note: You don’t have to send us your Canadian ID. Government-approved IDs from virtually any country can be sent.

How do I apply online for a bc criminal record check?

The RCMP database covers information from all provinces, so a criminal record check from British Columbia can be done through the RCMP. Start by registering with Globeia using a valid email address. Do I need ink-rolled fingerprints to apply for an RCMP Canada check from Portugal?

The RCMP only accepts digitized fingerprints but the digitization process must be done inside Canada. You can complete your C216-C form with the ink-roll method and we will digitize them for you in our Toronto office.

How long will it take me to receive my background check results from Canada?
