How much does fingerprinting cost in the United Kingdom?

I’m not a UK citizen or resident. Can I still apply for my FBI background check through Globeia?

Yes, anyone physically present in the United Kingdom can apply, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. We take your prints on an FD-258 or FD-1164 card wherever you are in the United Kingdom, and the card goes to Globeia in Washington, DC. Our own staff submit it to the FBI.

Is this the same as an ACRO police certificate?

No. ACRO issues police certificates for UK records. The FBI Background Check and the RCMP Criminal Record Check cover records in the United States and Canada. Employers, UK Visas and Immigration and authorities abroad often ask for a certificate from every country you have lived in, so many people need both. We take care of the FBI and RCMP side.

Can I get an RCMP Criminal Record Check from the United Kingdom?

Yes. We take your prints on the C-216C form, and Globeia Incorporated in Toronto, which holds the RCMP accreditation, submits the file. When the result arrives, we arrange the Global Affairs Canada apostille and any translation your file needs.

Is it possible to book a single visit for my whole family?

Yes. We can handle multiple applicants in one sitting at your home or workplace, as well as in our London office. Everyone gets their identity verified and their cards completed during the same appointment.

How long does a fingerprinting appointment take?

15 to 30 minutes from the moment the associate arrives. We check your ID against your face, roll each finger on the card and check every impression before we leave, so the card is not rejected later.

Which countries' police clearances can I get fingerprinted for in the United Kingdom?

The FBI Background Check, the RCMP Criminal Record Check, and police clearances for South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, India, the Gulf and many other countries. We take your prints on the card or form each authority requires, and confirm the route and price before you pay.

Do I get proof that my fingerprints were taken by Globeia?

Yes. Every completed appointment comes with a Letter of Identity Verification. It confirms who was fingerprinted, when and by whom, and carries an encrypted QR code that anyone you send it to can check.

Is Globeia a real company with offices, or an online service?

A real company. Globeia has an office in London, Globeia Inc. in Washington, DC submits FBI applications from inside the United States, and Globeia Incorporated in Toronto is listed by the RCMP as an accredited fingerprinting company. The addresses are on this page, and you are welcome to visit.

Who actually submits my fingerprints to the FBI or the RCMP?

Our own companies, inside the country concerned. Globeia Inc. in Washington, DC submits FBI Identity History Summary applications from inside the United States. Globeia Incorporated in Toronto, which holds the RCMP accreditation, digitises your C-216C card and submits it electronically to the RCMP from inside Canada. The RCMP does not accredit companies outside Canada, so this routing is the rule, not a preference.

Can I walk in to the London office?

Yes. The office at 2 Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington, is open Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 19:00, so you can come after work. Walk-ins are welcome, but booking ahead is recommended so an associate is free when you arrive. It is beside Paddington station, on the Elizabeth, Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines.

Why choose the full service instead of fingerprints only?

Because the fingerprint card is only the first step. Courier, submission, results and any apostille each happen in a different place, and a mistake at any stage can send you back to the start. Globeia's own offices handle every stage as one tracked file. If your employer is handling the rest, fingerprints only is a perfectly good choice, and we still check every impression and issue a Letter of Identity Verification.

Where is my FBI application mailed from, and who checked the card before it went?

Who orders the apostille, and any translation, and do they arrive in the same file?
Our own offices order the U.S. Department of State apostille or the Global Affairs Canada apostille, then any translation the receiving office asks for, in the right order. One file, one reference, one invoice.

A fingerprint card taken without reference to the authority's standards is just ink on paper: the wrong card stock, a missing rolled impression or an empty "taken by" box, and the application comes back weeks later. Our associates are trained on exactly those criteria.
