Three things to bring. The card is the one that matters.
FINRA does not accept the standard FBI FD-258 card, and we cannot issue a FINRA card for you. Your firm orders FINRA-approved cards and sends them to you with its identifiers already filled in. Check the card before you book: if the firm fields are blank, ask your compliance team first.
Your FINRA-approved fingerprint card
Sent to you by your member firm, with the firm's CRD number or ORI, the firm name and company code, and the reason fingerprinted already on it. Bring every card your firm sent; many firms ask for two.
Two forms of identification
At least one government issued with photo and signature. A passport is the safest choice. Your identity is verified with Face ID and your ID before any print is taken.
Your firm's return instructions
Where the completed card goes: back to your compliance team, or to FINRA Document Services for cards completed outside the United States. We hand the sealed card back to you; it does not pass through a third party.
Your firm's registration or compliance team orders FINRA fingerprint cards. If they would rather use electronic submission, FINRA's approved vendors capture prints in the United States only, which is why firms send cards to staff abroad.
