Ontario’s Document Apostille Process Guidelines

Ontario-issued documents are apostilled by the Ontario Documents Services instead of Global Affairs Canada

Translation Requirement

Documents in languages other than English and French must be notarized within Ontario along with a certified translation

Education Documents

Transcripts, Post-secondary diplomas, and degree certificates do not require notarization

Legal Documents

Ontario Court of Justice documents also do not need to be notarized before the apostille process

Divorce Certificates

Certificates issued before the 10th July 2023 cut-off date require notarization
